Competitions National Art Encounter 2018-19

U.S. National Deadline: October 4, 2018 – The Naples Art Association is now accepting entries for National Art Encounter 2018-19, a biennial exhibition open to artists residing in the United States and featuring 9 cash awards with a total value of $3,500.
The brick-and-mortar exhibition will be on view in Naples, Florida from Dec. 1, 2018 – Jan. 12, 2019 and is open to all media, subject matter and genres of artwork created after Jan. 1, 2014.
Artists residing in any of the fifty States in the United States of America are eligible to enter one or two artworks created after January 1, 2014 and not exhibited in the Naples Art Association’s galleries within the past 12 months. Artwork must be original. Prints produced from original works of art are not eligible. Accepted artwork must remain on display for the entire duration of the exhibition.
Located in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district, the non-profit Naples Art Association is celebrating its 65th year as the premier visual arts organization in the City of Naples.
The jurors are: Brad Cushman, Gallery Director, University of Arkansas at Little Rock; Jill Deupi, Beaux Arts Director, Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami; and Kirk Ke Wang, Professor of Visual Arts, Eckerd College, Saint Petersburg.
$3,500 in cash awards will be presented to artists during a reception the evening Friday, November 30, 2018. Artists are encouraged to attend the preview reception, but attendance is not a requirement. Award checks will be mailed to winning artists who are unable to accept their awards in person.

Artwork exhibited in National Art Encounter 2018-19 may be available for purchase or listed as NFS (not for sale). The Naples Art Association processes sales and will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.
The Naples Art Association is a 63+ year old visual arts non-profit organization located in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district. Exhibitions are free and open to the public.
