Opportunity Description

U.S. National Deadline: May 21, 2017 – Mark Arts invites all North American artists, both amateur and professional, to participate in the Printmaking National Exhibition. Original fine art monotypes, monoprints and edition prints are eligible. Traditional printmaking mediums such as woodcut, intaglio, lithography and silkscreen are eligible. Drawings, photographs and direct reproductions of drawings and paintings are not eligible. All prints must be for sale.

The juror is Sarah Riley, a painter/printmaker based in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. She is professor emeritus, former chairperson and head of printmaking at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Her book, Practical Mixed-Media Printmaking Techniques, was published in 2012 by A&C Black, London. This text is an introduction to intaglio and relief techniques that incorporate a wide range of low-cost, low-toxicity materials. The emphasis is on experimentation and re-combination in order to suit an artist’s individual needs. Her work is included in many public, corporate and private collections in the United States and England.

Cash awards of $3,000 will be given, and patron purchase awards are also anticipated.

Mark Arts publishes an illustrated catalog with all accepted entries. A complimentary copy will be mailed to each entrant.

Each artist may enter up to two (2) artworks for the basic fee of $30, and any additional image is $5 (10 max).

All entries will be judged from digital images (JPEG format). There are two methods from which you can select to enter the exhibition:
